Welcome to Holy Trinity, Stalybridge

We are a lively Anglican church with a relaxed and informal style. We are committed to worshipping God, serving our community and helping others to find out about Jesus.

We are the church right in the middle of Stalybridge, the one with the glass doors next to the canal.

We have an age range that stretches from 8 months to 80 years so you won’t feel out of place whatever your age!

Q - What is a service like?

A - Services can be different every week, especially depending on who is leading it, but some things always stay the same: the band will play some worship music for us all to join in with; the bible will be read and then the speaker for that morning will explain a little of what the bible reading means to us; the children will have something catered for them, either in the service or in a separate ‘Young Church’; and at the end we will have time for chatting and getting to know people over tea, coffee and biscuits. The whole thing normally lasts around 1 and a half hours starting at 10:30am and finishing around 12ish.

Q - Who do I talk to if I have questions?

A - There are always different people who are ‘on-duty’ each week either welcoming people at the door, handing out notices and leaflets, or setting things up around church. Any of these people will be more than happy to answer any questions you have or at least let you know who the best person to talk to is. You could also simply just walk up to our vicar Tom Parker or his wife Judy. They love talking to new people and will help in any way they can.

Q - What do I wear?

A - Just come in whatever you feel comfortable in. Most people just wear their normal casual clothes like jeans and t-shirts.

Q - Will I have to do anything, say anything or give anything?

A - Not at all. We want you to feel comfortable. Just sit back and see what the church is all about. And when the offering plate goes round don’t feel you have to give into it. The offering is designed for regular members to give to the ongoing work of the church.

Q - Do I have to be religious or a Christian to go to church?

A - You don't have to be a religious person or already a Christian to come or to be interested in what goes on in a church. The regular members of our church are all Christians, but we love having visitors whether they are Christians or not. People won't be judging you or looking down at you at all. We want you to feel completely at home.

Why not come along and give us a try?

It’s always risky stepping into somewhere new but here at Holy Trinity you can be assured of a warm, friendly and respectful welcome.

Please take a look at the questions we get asked the most, on the right, but if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

Get Involved

We've got many things going on during the week that you can be a part of, just look at our 'This Week' section on the right, but we've also got many groups that you can join. Please have a look at our What We Do page to see what there is.
